FGPC Extraordinary Access Memberships

COHORTS ARE SUSPENDED. OC6 and OC12 cohorts have been suspended effective 2 December. FGPC will update cohort captains and participants regarding the nature and duration of this suspension.

COVID-19 infections are increasing in BC and across Canada, and health authorities are asking Canadians to reduce personal contacts and non-essential travel.

FGPC’s mitigation protocols continue to meet BC’s health orders, including fitness facility measures and dockside “Phase 3 Return-to-Sport” operating requirements. Staff, coaches and trainers have invested in excellent safety procedures on behalf of our members. Providing that our water and gym members, along with our employees, commit to tightening up our numbers of contacts, using masks, maintaining adequate distances and avoiding non-essential travel over the coming weeks, FGPC will continue to operate safely. At this time, all of FGPC’s “extraordinary access” programs are operating and available to our members.

As a friendly reminder, if we or anyone in our households or “bubbles” feels unwell, seek medical advice and stay home. If you participate in one of our “cohort” crew programs, your monitoring and adherence to safety measures is even more important: participating in a cohort comes with an extraordinary duty of care shared by everyone in your cohort as well as your workplaces and households: please maintain the highest safety precautions in your daily, personal prevention measures in order to keep your teammates safe, along with their households and workplaces.

We owe it to everyone in our communities to take the upcoming pre-vaccine winter and spring very seriously. Please ensure that you are receiving FGPC notifications (by email): paddlers and gym members must sign up for this free service, which broadcasts weather, safety and health updates to all subscribers. If you’re unsure about whether or not you’ve enrolled for these alerts, please do so today by clicking here: https://fgpaddle.com/dock-notifications/ (multiple enrolments won’t hurt you).

On behalf of the staff, coaches and trainers at FGPC, please stay safe, stay healthy, be kind, and have confidence that we will navigate the months ahead successfully.

Effective Tuesday 19 May, organized and solo paddling activities are available out-of-doors providing they comply with COVID-mitigation and distancing protocols. The Fairway Gorge Paddling Club is proud to provide on-water services in a manner that puts the health of our members first, guided by protocols that are safe, consistent and accountable.

A 1-hour safety and navigation orientation is required when you book your first EAP Kayak time slot.

Kayak launching times run 7 days per week, bookable up to 7 days in advance, at 930am, 1130am, 130pm, 330pm and 530pm each day, first come first served through advance on-line booking available to members only. Due to mitigation protocols in effect, adherence to these schedules is mandatory.

EAP Crew Boat Cohort Program

COHORTS ARE SUSPENDED. OC6 and OC12 cohorts have been suspended effective 2 December. FGPC will update cohort captains and participants regarding the nature and duration of this suspension.

FGPC’s “EAP Crew Boat Cohort Program” provides staggered, pre-booked access to OC6 equipment launched from dedicated docks on an assigned schedule made available for consecutive 3-month periods. Staff responsible for mitigation and distancing will admit six cohort paddlers at a time onto pre-assigned dock areas; in instances where two 6-paddler cohorts choose to train side-by-side in an OC12, one crew will enter the dock area then load-and-spin before the second 6-paddler cohort enters the dock area to load in the adjacent hull.

Cohort costs: cohort paddlers will be required to subscribe to a monthly FGPC EAP crew boat cohort fee of $30 per month plus GST, with a minimum expected 3-month term, automatically drawn on the first of each month from a credit card on file for each cohort member, including the captain. This $30 per month will provide each cohort with up to two practices per week (one weekend and one weekday is the standard). Cohort members are bound by the general cancellation terms of all EAP programs. EAP subscriptions are not transferable.

If a club crew EAP subscriber wishes to add another EAP program (e.g. OC1, kayak or fitness membership) the monthly cost of the second membership is $77.50 plus GST, unless the EAP subscriber already has a primary EAP membership, in which case additional subscriptions are $30 per month plus GST.
